Transfer back to Vestal

According to his service records, on this date, my dad, Frank Dolan, was transferred back to the USS Vestal, having completed repairs over the last month on the cruiser Indianapolis, following its battles in Japanese-dominated waters in New Guinea. The Indianapolis was prepared at Pearl Harbor for a trip to the Mare Island Naval Shipyard in California for overhaul and refit.
